Daily Website Backups

Do you keep daily backups of your WordPress website?

One thing that you always should have with a WordPress website or really any website is a daily backup schedule.

A lot of people make the mistake of not backing up their website. And even if they have a backup, they backup in only one place.

And what ends up happening at some point in time, you are going to have a problem with your website, no matter who takes care of it.

And no matter how careful you are, there are so many things in the Internet space that are out of our control and you eventually will have a problem. And when you do, you’ll be super glad that you had a daily backup. So on our Muletown Digital Care Plans, we keep a daily backup, but we keep backups in more than one location.

So it’s not just a backup in an Amazon bucket, it’s a backup in two completely different places at two different times a day.

So we have different backup points for our customers, because if you are infected with malware, if somebody hacks your website, if your product database gets deleted or you lose all your orders or someone hacks and destroys all your page titles for your SEO, if something bad ever happens, you have a backup from literally the same day, a day before or two days ago.

You can roll back to a version of your site that doesn’t have that problem, fix your issues and close the door for whatever the issue was that caused your site to have a problem.

So it is always good to have daily backups if you can’t get daily, at least weekly. But they should come from the server level.

Just a WordPress backup plug in may not be enough if it’s just storing those files on your server, because if your server crashes, you’re not going to be able to get those files.

So make sure you have a daily backup of your website, especially if you make frequent changes to your site. That is definitely one of the 9 or 10 things that we do for our clients on our care plans. We keep daily backups. Highly recommend that you do the same.
