Troubleshooting Website Support

Have you ever had an issue with your website and you’ve gone to the troubleshooting part and you can’t figure out what’s going on and you just don’t know who to reach out to?

One often very overlooked and super important component of launching or having a website is who is going to support your website?

So normally, let me explain what happens to clients before they end up working with us.

Typically, they will have a problem with their website and their web designer, they can’t get a hold of them. So they start looking around, they call GoDaddy and GoDaddy says, “Oh, we have your domain name, we don’t host your website. Your website is hosted by Host Cheap.” (or whoever it is.)

So you go over to Host Cheap. You don’t know how to log in your account. You’re getting frustrated because your website still broken, you don’t even know how to get in. They’re like, “Oh well, can you confirm your email, your phone number?” Nothing matches up.

And even if you’re fortunate enough to know how to get into that account, you’re going to most likely be talking to a tier one hosting support person. The problem with those people is that they are reading a script and they know just about this much more than you do. And you end up in this revolving door of my sites not working, and they’re going to tell you, “Well, it might be GoDaddy’s fault, maybe talk to your web designer.”

There’s no one there to actually help you.

The thing is, it’s not just the fact that you might have a five minute problem that needs solved. Right. We might be able to fix that problem in 30 seconds.

The thing is, you’re going to waste your entire day running around on a support issue that should take five minutes to solve.

So don’t forget about website support.

If you’re active on your website and for your website to be useful in your business, you should be active. If you’re active, you need support. You need one point of contact, one person to reach out to when something’s wrong so that you can get help and get your website back online.

Taking care of your support is something we value very highly. All of our care plans come with at least minimal 30 minutes of free support every month so that if you have a problem, we’re there.

And obviously the problem with our hosting or something goes wrong there, we’re there all the time.

But you should have a point of contact for support if you’re reliant on tier one at whatever cheap hosting company, you’re going to find yourself wasting a whole lot of money.

If I blow an entire day on a small support problem that costs our business money just like it costs you money. So that’s a situation you want to make sure you can solve straight out of the gate and you know who to call when something goes wrong.
